Health-Related Fitness

Health-related fitness involves activities that help people reduce their risk for chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.  Health-related fitness activities are centered around activities that promote total wellness.

 

Health-Related Fitness Components:

  • Cardiovascular Fitness

  • Muscular Strength and Endurance

  • Flexibility

  • Body Composition

 

The FitnessGram is a test designed to assess a person's health-related fitness.  The common tests include

  • PACER or Mile Run

  • Sit and Reach

  • Push Ups

  • Curl Ups
